Sunken manhole Northbound A508 carriageway

Sent to Northamptonshire Highways 4 minutes later. ref: 2022001.

Sunken manhole on Northbound A508 carriageway just before the Grand Union Canal bridge. Issue has been present for at least 3 months, if not longer. It requires drivers to swerve left or right to miss it, dangerous if HGV or large vehicle is coming in other direction. Please address soon.

  • Northants Police have had an emergency call to what I think is this location to report a missing manhole cover - described as: Southbound from Roade towards Grafton Regis, just down the hill.

  • Two manhole covers, one on its side pointing up on LHS, leaving hole on RHS where vehicles must swerve, Northbound 1-2 km before Grafton Regis A508
