Reported in the Verges - Damaged by Vehicles category anonymously at 16:50, Saturday 28 March 2020

Sent to Northamptonshire County Council 5 minutes later. ref: 2075244.

Firstly you report no safety defects. So if the mud causes an accident who is at fault? I have moved the deposited mud from the entrance and the road. Openreach recently put ducting in the same location as the lorry tracks in the verge so I suspect damage has been caused to this. The ditch needs reforming to take water as does the verge.

  • Rutts in grass verges would currently not be seen as a highways safety defect. Ditches and hedges that border the highway are the responsibility of the adjacent landowner to maintain. Currently the ditch does not constitute a safety related issue.

State changed to: No further action
