Incomplete works on ‘highway’
Reported in the Potholes / Highway Condition category anonymously at 15:11, Thursday 2 April 2020
Sent to Northamptonshire County Council 4 minutes later. ref: 2078845.
Hi, we currently have ongoing works taking place and this morning I left a message asking for Mr Jeremy Collins to return my call as he was in a meeting at the time and he has not bothered to call me back. They are currently resurfacing the highway to the front of my house, which should include the road and approximately 10 feet off the road on to drives as per our deeds which show where the highway lies, this is being done at number 42, as they last night scraped the entrance to their drive but has not been done at our address, if this is not rectified it will leave a large drop which will very quickly become damaged as it is now. Please call me back urgently to discuss and rectify this, thanks.
Thank you for reporting a fault. We will use the information you have provided to assess and prioritise this fault in accordance with our published response times for fault reports.

Good evening, I have just spoken to Gavin who is the manager on site here this evening, who explains the reason I had probably not had any replies from Jeremy is because he finished working on the job last week! In any case, I have discussed the problem with him which in essence is that the road is being repaired but other areas of damage are not, the attached image details the land registry and shows the land we own as proved by title deeds, 4 of the 6 properties on our road over the years have taken it upon themselves to install and maintain block paved driveways leading right up to the roadside, we have not, nor have the farm at 42, the patch of highway leading to my drive is in desperate need of repair but Gavin has informed me that it has not been included in this current schedule of works, this area has already caused damage to vehicles as the hole is so large that engine sumps now ‘bottom out’ and car bumper spoilers now scare on it every time when accessing the drive. This matter is only now going to be made worse by the fact that the main highway is having an additional 40mm of asphalt added to it, I believe once this work is completed the problem will then become an emergency highway problem causing damage to vehicles on a daily basis. Please contact me ASAP to resolve this matter, I am told by Gavin this is likely to need someone from the registry team to attend to it, I have numerous official document to prove where the land border is if required. Kind regards

That’s great, thank you for your update, and thank you to the 2 gentleman who came to assess the area a couple of days ago, they were very professional and explained what was required whilst also considering the current Covid difficulties and maintaining the appropriate distances whilst talking to me, I was very impressed with their attitudes and response to me. Thank you
