Potholes and road deterioration by drain
Reported in the Potholes / Highway Condition category anonymously at 19:34, Tuesday 5 May 2020
Sent to Northamptonshire County Council less than a minute later. ref: 2106920.
When leaving Northampton via the A428 and as you slowly enter the village of Harlestone, you are forced to pick either extreme left, or very dangerous right (meeting oncoming traffic) to avoid an ever growing section of potholes, next to a raised drain cover. As the problem area is just after a walled left turn, it is very difficult to position your vehicle to; A. Avoid the noses of other vehicles poking out from the turning. B. Road users wanting to turn right into the turning. These two factors leave little or no option but to hit the offending pothole/s near the exposed drain cover. This pothole/s is ever increasing in size daily and motorists shouldn’t have to ‘hope for the best’ when only having to really just drive straight, a bit unfair really. Please can your team address this poor section of road as soon as possible, thank you.
