Series of deep rivets on severe bend on Main Village Street
Reported in the Potholes / Highway Condition category by Derek Robertson at 16:24, Monday 11 May 2020
Sent to Northamptonshire County Council less than a minute later. ref: 2112516.
There has been ongoing deterioration in the road surface at the junction of Main St, Middleton / The Hill / Ashley Road. Deep rivets have developed across the width of the surface. This is a well used road, and a serious bend on the carriageway. It is also at the descent of 'The Hill' which cyclists regularly descend at speed and would not see the damage until they were upon it. Road markings have also disappeared, and motorists have been witnessed taking the blind bend on the wrong side of the carriageway. The markings on Ashley Road entrance side are also faded and give people the wrong impression on descrending The Hill, that this is a continuation of the road, as opposed toa junction. People do not indicate to turn into the junction on descending The Hill and I have had a number of 'near misses' crossing the road with my dog. Only a matter of time before something serious occurs here.
