Access from road to gate heavily eroded

Reported in the Gate - Damaged/ Missing category anonymously at 16:06, Thursday 14 May 2020

Sent to Northamptonshire County Council less than a minute later. ref: 2115960.

The road is approximately a metre above the gate which is at field level. The access to the gate over the verge is extremely steep. It is believed the steep verge was at one time supported by boards to create steps, these have rotted away and there is now a steep slope - almost a "step" of almost a metre. There is some evidence of broken metal posts which may have supported the retaining boards, which are now tripping hazards. The very wet autumn and winter speeded the erosion. This is a well walked footpath
