Reported in the Restricted Visibility / Overgrown / Overhanging category anonymously at 20:55, Thursday 21 May 2020

Sent to Northamptonshire County Council less than a minute later. ref: 2124531.

This tree has needed attention for some years. Last contacted street doctor 2 years ago but no action was taken . The branch that fell is big enough to kill . Dog walkers regularly walk along this verge . Please carry out work asap to keep the public safe. Tree hangs out over the centre line of the busy road which is on a bus route.

  • I have added this photo because it shows the typical amount of deadwood that falls on a windy day . It is a considerable hazard to pedestrians and road users.

  • An inspection of the higher branches/boughs should be carried out before it happens again and this time someone gets seriously injured. Removing the branch isn’t dealing with the cause of the problem. The public need to be made aware of the risk of walking by the tree. If this was the country park it would be taped off and the park closed in strong winds! There was no wind or warning when this bough fell 25 feet.
