Severe road shoulder drop off 140 mm deep for more than 10 metres
Reported in the Verges - Damaged by Vehicles category anonymously at 16:05, Sat 30 May 2020
Sent to Northamptonshire Highways less than a minute later. ref: 2135307.
The road width is 3m, enough for cars and bikes to pass without parking at a passing point but the verge has worn away by vehicles pulling over to facilitate passing, (and turning into the field opposite at the blue steel gate on the north side of the road). The resulting verge-side “rut” is now 140mm deep and 500 mm wide so if ones tyres falls off the road into the rut, the road edge cuts into the side-wall of your near-side tyres, not just puncturing them but writing them off.
