Overhanging trees ripping elephant grass from bales of passing lorries
Reported in the Restricted Visibility / Overgrown / Overhanging category anonymously at 16:17, Mon 1 June 2020
Sent to Northamptonshire Highways less than a minute later. ref: 2137884.
Flat bed lorries towing an equally large trailer loaded with bales of elephant grass leave the farm opposite Ringstead Trout Fishery entrance on a regular basis. 6" pieces of the grass which is akin to bamboo cane fall off along the road into Ringstead. It is all swept into the gutter and when it rains it will block the side drains. It is deposited all through Ringstead and when the lorries go up Raunds Road more is pulled out of the bales by the overhanging trees deposited in the gutter blocking even more drains. If a piece of this grass! were to hit a pedestrian or cyclist in the eye it could cause serious damage. The trees need cutting back and the lorries instructed to sheet the load. One lorry coloured green had Cornwall Feeds on it. They go into Mick George quarry to be weighed before going into the A45
