Sandstone pillar damaged at entrance to Kingsthorpe Rec
Reported in the Damaged/Loose category anonymously at 20:34, Mon 1 June 2020
Sent to Northamptonshire Highways less than a minute later. ref: 2138213.
Left hand pillar at the entrance to Kingsthorpe Rec from Harborough Road is cracked all the way through and appears to be on the verge of collapse. This entrance is both pedestrian and vehicular and there is a danger that a pedestrian could be injured if it does collapse. The entrance is the one used to access the tennis courts and is also used by the grounds keepers. The pillar borders the footpath and the heavy traffic, HGVs and buses that use the Harborough road could cause premature collapse.
