Hazzard on A422 Old Stratford
Reported in the Restricted Visibility / Overgrown / Overhanging category anonymously at 14:53, Fri 5 June 2020
Sent to Northamptonshire Highways less than a minute later. ref: 2143596.
I would like to bring to your attention the current state of the A422 between Deanshanger and Old Stratford and a section which bypasses Old Stratford which is particularly overgrown. The worst part of the road is on the corner before and after the bus lane entrance to Old Stratford, the trees are overhanging the road and the cycle lane is unusable due to mud and debris covering the cycle lane. That said the whole stretch bypassing Old Stratford is in need of maintenance. I have witnessed two near misses in the last few weeks caused by the overgrown trees narrowing the road and obstructing motorists' view of oncoming traffic. Cyclists are being forced onto the main carriageway on the corner giving motorists no option than to use part of the oncoming lane on a blind corner.
Could you please send a team to clean up the road and cut back the trees before we see an accident on this stretch of road.
