Drain cover has lifted during heavy rainfall and fallen off the drain, leaving the hole exposed.

Sent to Northamptonshire County Council less than a minute later. ref: 2144583.

During heavy rainfall, water pressure has lifted the drain cover. the cover has fallen away from the drain, leaving it open. this is on a pavement so there is a danger that a person could fall down the drain.

  • Thank you for your enquiry. A works order has been raised this will be undertaken within the next 6 months. On most occasions, we are completing defects sooner. ). Can you please contact us again if the defect gets any worse so our officers can re-inspect, preferably attaching a photograph (where it is safe for you to take one)

  • This issue with the drain was first raised back in May 19 ref:1624596. Under the circumstances as it has already been over a year surely this matter should be addressed with immendiate effect; not in 6 months as is currently been reported.
