Vegetation overhanging edge of Old Northampton Road along Shires estate

Reported in the Restricted Visibility / Overgrown / Overhanging category anonymously at 12:34, Thu 11 June 2020

Sent to Northamptonshire Highways less than a minute later. ref: 2151517.

Although the grass at the side of the road is cut, overhanging vegetation from trees, shrubs and brambles along Old Northampton Road on the Shires estate side of the road is overhanging into the carriageway causing mild obstruction to vehicles, and also a hazard to pedestrians who walk on the road rather than the narrow footpath (more of an issue this year due to COVID). This was not cut back last year, and therefore with this years growth the issue is becoming an increasing problem.

  • Many thanks for the fantastic work done on the Hesketh estate side of the road, however the SHIREs ESTATE SIDE of the road is the one that I raised issue with, as vegetation is overhanging the carriageway in places between the water meadow/car park and the top of the Shires estate, limiting visibility exiting onto Northampton Road and causing mild obstruction to vehicles and pedestrians on that side of the road. Please can this be addressed ASAP?
