Reported in the Restricted Visibility / Overgrown / Overhanging category anonymously at 16:18, Friday 19 June 2020
Sent to Northamptonshire County Council less than a minute later. ref: 2163985.
Previously reported 2154526. Vegetation has been allowed to grow on either side of the A6116 right up to the edge of the road. You closed my report as the verge is not a right of way joining NU12 and NU 18 bridleways. The point is that the road is the connection. In the past this would have been used far less by vehicles, but the growth of Corby and the construction of the A14, have led to increased and faster use by vehicles. This isn't a right of way request but a request for the highway to be restored along the verges here, that have been allowed to extend right to the road edge. If like many other points along this stretch of road, if the vegetation didn't encroach, then practically the adjoining bridleways could be used, but also the road would be safer to use by cyclists and other users along the A6116. Verge needs to be cut back, by those responsible for the A6116
