Reported in the Road Markings - Worn/Faded category anonymously at 11:47, Friday 26 June 2020

Sent to Northamptonshire County Council less than a minute later. ref: 2173640.

No sidewalk to road, Therefore parking bay comes right up to my garden path. When cars are parked they come up to mu path and I cannot access my path.I use a three wheel trolley which enables me to walk. I am not registered disabled but because of a balance problem I need my trolley. any years ago there was a rectangle of yellow stripes which stopped cars parking right up to my path. There is a problem with the numbers of cars now in use in the close and they have to park wherever they can but I do need the access' This is in fact a shared pathway with our neighbours at No 21.

  • Thank you for your enquiry. Unfortunately Northamptonshire Highways do not have the powers to take any direct action against vehicles parking on the public highway. However, if someone parks inappropriately at a road junction or on a footway and where it is deemed not possible for drivers to safely manoeuvre, pedestrians to pass unhindered along the footway or that access to public or private property is impeded, then any concerns should be passed on to Northamptonshire Police. Obstructing the highways is a matter for the police and they may decide on taking the appropriate enforcement action. Contact your local Safer Communities Team by calling the non-emergency number 101 or by following the link on the Northamptonshire Police website
