Reported in the Pothole / Failed Reinstatement category anonymously at 17:30, Thursday 2 July 2020
Sent to Northamptonshire County Council less than a minute later. ref: 2182058.
The overall condition of the footway has deteriorated over the past 20 years with no maintenance taking place. There a cracks and uneven sections of the path. Utility trench cracks run through the area and this has allowed weed growth to take hold. The surface course has steadily crazed resulting in a number of surface course defects causing the the bituminous surface to fail. Tree root and basel growth from the lime tree continues to lift the path. Where the basel growth is not maintained the path becomes restricted in width, forcing the pedestrian to walk on the worst affected sections of path. (picture shows basel growth recently cut by resident).
