Road signs are an obstruction in the road
Reported in the Potholes / Highway Condition category anonymously at 22:13, Wed 8 July 2020
Sent to Northamptonshire Highways less than a minute later. ref: 2192129.
There are a number of signs that cause a driver travelling eastbound then turning left on to Irthlingborough Road North to swing out dangerously into the path of on coming traffic. When the filter light is on, this has caused a several near misses for myself and others as traffic is approaching in the opposite direction. This is highly dangerous and the persons positions these signs do not appear to have considered the high risk of placing these signs in the road.

We have spoken to British Rail who have rectified the signs, we have also ask them to contact their traffic management company to arrange a better location on the highway for these signs to be placed.

Please be advised that the signs have once again been placed in a dangerous position in the road. This could cause a head-on collision due to the placement of the signs in conjunction with the traffic light filter and the sequence in place.
Please also be advised that anecdoctally this is not the first time these signs have been put back into a dangerous position. Last week this happened but a local resident moved them onto the pavement.
This back and forth cannot continue. The signs must either remain off the road or be removed altogether if people cannot be trusted to leave them in a safe place.

Please be advised that this issue has recurred. The signs have been placed again in the road, forcing filter traffic into the path of oncoming traffic. I had a near miss yesterday due to this.

Please be advised that this issue has not been rectified. The signs were relocated on to the pavement on 06/11/20 but were placed back on the road in a dangerous position by 08/11/20. This backing and forth cannot continue. Please can these signs be removed altogether to stop this persistent issue. The placement of them at this junction is unnecessary when the actual closure is around 1-2 miles away.

Please can we have some action on this. The issue still persists and is a danger to people driving on this road. A head-on collision is likely because of the placement of these unnecessary signs.
