4x3msq area of potholes by crossing
Reported in the Potholes / Highway Condition category anonymously at 17:19, Thu 9 July 2020
Sent to Northamptonshire Highways less than a minute later. ref: 2193368.
I am reporting that this section of road at the end of Station Road, which meets the edge of B5385, close to a pedestrian crossing is and has been long overdue a repair now. I and many other citizens that live in the village are appalled by just how long it has taken the Council even just to mark two yellow lines, which may I add don’t actually cover the area properly now. This road is a major arterial route through the village and has multiple class sizes of vehicle using it daily. These are busses, articulated lorries, tractors, vans, bikes and many hundreds of cars a day. All of this is having a detrimental effect on this particular area and isn’t getting any better, just larger and more hazardous. I found other reports about this which were made back in early May and several months before that too, what is going on?Ultimately the longer you put it off, the more you’ll be spending on it with time, labour and materials later. Not to mention, what if, or when someone smashes an allow wheel. Or worse still, a vehicle brakes suddenly and runs someone over on the crossing because the road surface impeded the braking and handling of the vehicle trying to stop. Just think, it’s money better spent now before something, or someone puts you in an uncomfortable position to apologise after a potential accident and spend more money. I look forward to you taking the opportunity to getting on with this right away, thank you.
