Dangerous trees on bank in Morgans Close Polebrook
Reported in the Restricted Visibility / Overgrown / Overhanging category anonymously at 14:43, Friday 10 July 2020
Sent to Northamptonshire County Council less than a minute later. ref: 2194609.
There are two trees on the bank outside Nos. 5 - 11 Morgans Close which have not been cut back for a number of years and are hanging low over the footpath and have grown around the telephone cables.
Also the roots of these trees are pushing up the footpath and I have reported uneven places in the past but only the reinstatement of the cable trench was carried out. I have reported it again today. I, myself need a walker to get about and one neighbour needs to take her mother out in a wheelchair and her husband when he can get out is not steady on his feet.
From a health and safety point of view we would be grateful if this matter could be looked into.
Thank you for reporting a fault. We will use the information you have provided to assess and prioritise this fault in accordance with our published response times for fault reports.

My son had a look at the telephone cables which run through the trees and has seen that the tree branches are resting on the cable such that the cable is as tight as a drum. This is very concerning considering all the winds we have been having if the branch damages the cable not only would it leave me without a telephone line but my life line runs on the telephone line. I think perhaps it is a case for me to contact BT and get them to take the case up.
I have received notification that an inspection of the footpath has been made and it is considered no action needed. The situation will be monitored. Photographs of the path were sent and the trees can be photographed if you wish. Please advise.
