Give Way Sign

Reported via iOS in the Damaged / Missing / Facing Wrong Way category anonymously at 22:34, Saturday 18 July 2020

Sent to Northamptonshire County Council less than a minute later. ref: 2206464.

The give way sign is too far up the pole & drivers do not see it so they think that have right of way. There also needs to be road markings with give way written on it.

  • Attached are photographs to demonstrate

    1) the give way sign is too small

    2) the sign is too high

    3) no road markings to make visitors aware they need to stop before driving away.

Residents have the right of way for this part of Milton Way and it is dangerous and if not addressed, there is going to be an accident.

  • Lovell have adhered to all the requirements necessary. They have raised the issue with the councils Highways Clerk and No further action is intended as the council’s clerk of works have inspected the area. There are no requirements for give way markings on the section 38 or 278 drawing. This issue was raised with highways and no action required. The Highways Clark has inspected and cleared all remedial works required on site with no action on stop lines this was on the 24th January 2020 . So... you are referring me to the developers and they are referring us back to you... Whom is the right person to address this issue??

  • I have had many vehicles driving towards me as they think they have right of way. I have also been verbally abused again because they think they have right of way. They do not stop, indicate or give way to oncoming traffic. The lighting is very poor also. The give way sign is far too small & too far up the pole, drivers do not see it. Please can you do something about this before a real accident happens. There needs to be a bigger sign ideally one on each side of the road along with markings on the road.
