Collapsed bank next to footpath exposing sheer drop from pavement into the River Til. This is dangerous.

Reported in the Pothole / Failed Reinstatement category anonymously at 17:21, Thursday 23 July 2020

Sent to Northamptonshire County Council less than a minute later. ref: 2213893.

The footpath/cycle path next to the A6 outside 249 Bedford Road Rushden NN10 0SQ crosses the River Til - the safety barrier that was put there by the council in the 1990s to protect footpath users from the sheer drop into the river below has collapsed. This was reported on Street Doctor about 12 months ago and the council placed temporary plastic barriers - these have also fallen over the sheer drop and it is only a matter of time before a pedestrian or cyclist joins these items and falls over the edge into the River Til. This is a safety issue and the safety barrier needs to be resinstated to protect the public. I am keeping a record of this report as it seems negligent that this issue has been left without any remedial action to reinstate the safety barrier over the river.
