Caller says that hinges not safe to use and caught his finger and could do serious damange - needs replacing or fixing

  • The problem is with the big farmer's metal gate to the bridge that crosses the river about 50 to 100 yards into the footpath going from Denford to Woodford. It drops down on its hinges when released from the catch and the bar above caught and nearly severed my finger against the catch. I'm concerned this is a dangerous condition that could severely injure someone else.

  • Thank you for your enquiry I can confirm that the landowner has been contacted regarding this matter. Improvement works are to be carried out to the gate within the next 14 days.
