Seeping sewage coming from centre of road. Foul smelling.
Reported in the Blocked/Damaged category anonymously at 10:56, Thu 13 August 2020
Sent to Northamptonshire Highways less than a minute later. ref: 2243314.
I have monitored the area for last couple of weeks. It does not dry up during hot weather. Foul smelling, liquid ends up in drain - elderly people use the grass verge as Duncote has no footpaths. Now dangerous. This week Anglia Water have checked out area said not their problem to contact Highways England who told me to contact you.

I first reported a foul smelling leakage coming from the middle of the Duncote road on 13th August, 20. It has now increased to another area which is running with `sewage' into the verge and along side the road into a drain. I really feel this is not acceptable and is a health risk. Since I first contacted you another resident reported it to Anglian Water who said it was `now fixed' and had been a blocked sewer. This is incorrect, they had previously after inspection told me and my husband it was nothing to do with them. I feel this is now an urgent matter. There are no paths in Duncote and residents, mostly elderly and children use this verge as a footpath.

I am also writing to complain about the seeping sewage in the village of Duncote. This is unacceptable as it is a health hazard. We would be grateful for urgent action.

This problem has certainly not been fixed and is causing a serious health and safety risk to the residents of Duncote who have to walk along the highways as there are no footpaths through the hamlet.. Please advise when the situation will be re-examined and permanent action taken by the appropriate authority

Good news, over the weekend the seeping sewage which was free flowing along the verge in Duncote has stopped. It is drying up and no longer smelling and covered in flies. I hope it is not temporary.

12.9.20 Bad news seeping sewage has now reappeared and is now flowing into the nearest drain, it is foul smelling and causing a problem again for pedestrians as they use the grass verge as there are no pathways along the main road in Duncote. I have decided to contact FixMyStreet South Northants incase they can assist us.
