Deterioration of footpath, uneven surface, large holes and raised areas due to tree roots. Extreme trip hazard on path used by elderly people going to cemetery and young children from nearly school

  • Thank you for reporting a fault on the highway, the highways team have now resolved the issue.

  • Although fixed it is disappointing the manpower it took to complete such a small area. Because of the inappropriate labour provided by the Council several workmen were standing around at the cost of the tex payer.

  • Thank you for your enquiry. Our records show that Northamptonshire highways operatives were on site for three days and have patch repaired over 60m2 of footway which is now considered safe for pedestrians.

    With regard to your comments questioning the staffing and transport resources used for this operation. We have verified with the site supervisor that there were three maintenance operatives on site, together with the required two traffic management operatives to ensure safety for those working and for the general public. Due to the current COVID_19 restrictions, Northamptonshire highway policy on safe working and limiting the number of people occupying a vehicle, has meant that unfortunately additional vehicles will be on present.
