New speed bump too severe
Reported in the Potholes / Highway Condition category anonymously at 01:16, Fri 4 September 2020
Sent to Northamptonshire Highways less than a minute later. ref: 2277625.
A new speed bump on the junction of main road Duston and Berrywood road is causing cars and buses to bottom out. It is obviously build too severe and needs to be rectified before the contractors leave the site. 3 months of roadworks for this mistake is unacceptable.

The work now appears to be complete yet the traffic calming ramps are far too severe, if I roll down the Main Road village exit ramp the front valence of my car scrapes on the road. I have just walked past the junction & two cars exiting Berrywood Road both caught their valence, one of which was a Ford Ka. The traffic calming at this junction is not fit for purpose and I for one will pursue this matter to conclusion.

Please see photographs attached showing the MainRoad exit ramp and multiple scuff marks from the underside of vehicles which will all be showing signs of damage caused by this severe ramp. Note from the photos that this ramp appears to be damaging the underside front, rear & middle of vehicles. I note that you were aware of the ramp issues long before the work was finished.

Thank you for contacting the County Council regarding these Road works. There has been a site visit between all parties involved and the developer / contractor has made an application to carry out the works resulting from this meeting in the new year.

It is clear that the surfacing works for this project were substandard given the complaints already outlined to the ramp and inspection covers. May I also add the macadam joints are now also breaking down following the first cold weather. I trust the contractor are being held accountable in their defects period and the repairs are not coming out of tax payers money? Thanks

Before remedial work is carried out can we please also note the irony that the fastest entry to this junction which is from the village does NOT have a speed ramp while two of the other exits to the junction have severe ramps. I have yet to walk past this junction without hearing the scraping noise from the underside of a car or a bus.
