Redressing waste of time
Reported via iOS in the Potholes / Highway Condition category anonymously at 19:50, Sat 5 September 2020
Sent to Northamptonshire Highways less than a minute later. ref: 2280174.
The whole of great Billing way is 2 black lines of Black tar as the gravel dressing has not adhere to it. This will be very slippery when the road is wet. Both side need to be totally recovered.

Good Afternoon, thank you for your inquiry regarding the surface dressing works that were recently carried out on Great Billing Way. We experienced some issues with the installation of the dressing on site due to a bout of heavy rain which came soon after works were completed. However, the site has now been assessed and will be monitored for the foreseeable future to monitor any changes and to ensure that the carriageway meets the required specifications.

I use this piece of road each day and it is one of te worst resurfacing jobs I have seen. I assume the contractor will be be putting it right with no cost to the Borough. I do not know for how many years we have developed tarmacam as a road surface, but to use the rationale of rain following its laying seems ridiculous. I thought I would see the 30 deg plus temperatures being cited as the problem, not a drop of rain. In any case if the contactor was not able to guarantee a good job, they should not have started the job. Pleae confirm my Council Tax or Government grant is not covering the cost of this job. I would also consider changing the contractor for future jobs if they don not repair their shoddy work.

Would there be any update on state of the road. At Great Billing Way There must still be a problem with the road as all signs are still present or is this a way of not taking responsibility of any accidents occur on this road.
