Footpath EV9 obstructed and obscured by maize crop.
Reported in the Passage-Obstructed/Overgrown category anonymously at 12:57, Tue 22 September 2020
Sent to Northamptonshire Highways less than a minute later. ref: 2306620.
A complaint has been received that Footpath EV9 in the Parish of Hellidon has become obstructed at its eastern end by the growth of a maize crop, now approximately 6 to 7 feet high, that make passage through the crop difficult, and totally obscures the alignment and bearing of the Right of Way across the field adjacent to the Hellidon-Staverton Road through to its northern access/ gateway – a distance of some 300 yards. EV9 offers a useful and formerly well-used path that forms both a link in circular walking routes around the Hellidon/ Catesby parish border, and also longer distance linear walks to the neighbouring parishes of Charwelton and Badby. There has been a noticeable increase in walker/ rambler traffic in the parish this year and it is important that the value of this amenity is restored to the residents of this parish and our visitors as soon as possible. Would you therefore please initiate action with the landowner as soon as possible and as appropriate to the circumstances of crop encroachment so that this problem can be fully resolved. A small selection of images taken late morning Tuesday 22nd September is appended, depicting a traverse from eastern to western access points across the field concerned, and illustrating the indistinct condition of the Right of Way at the present time.

Thanks for reporting this and apologies for the delay but the land owner has been contacted to make a clear path through the crop if they haven't already. The crop should also be harvested in the near future if not already.
