Whenever there is heavy rainfall this drain gets blocked & floods the road above the kerb. Drain gets blocked by debris being pulled down Sywell road from farm gateway above Foxhill Farm access. Road side ditch cannot handle either volume of water, or full of greenery, causing water to spread onto road, bring greenery onto road surface.

Photo to illustrate today's conditions 14th Jan 2021: it appears that either the gulley cleaning hasn't happened yet, or the design-capacity of the gulley is insufficient for the location and so may need to be reviewed.

Several people along Sywell Road who have witnessed the flooding over the years have said as well as the drain being changed to manage the volume of water, if kerbs were present further up the road there would not be the amount of silt washed down the road & contributing to the drain blockage.

Sywell Road has now been closed because of the flooding. The problem is, though, us residents who live just outside the closure, cannot use the road. So we are in real self isolation!

I am a shielding person. My wife is in her 70's. My heart condition tablets ran out this morning. Both the post and carriers have stopped delivering. Our food comes from Waitrose online, and they won't be able to deliver either. Shutting the road is one thing for an hour or two. When is the simple matter of pumping out the drain going to be fixed? We are not the only elderly people in this road experiencing this problem. Please respond with some information rather than "This report is under further investigation".

The road is still closed.
At the moment, despite the flooding, vehicles are driving through the flooding. This is causing further damage to the verges, which will need to be included in the repair scheme.
Is there a status update please?
