Footpath blocked
Reported via desktop in the Obstruction (Not Vegetation) category anonymously at 20:45, Sat 24 October 2020
Sent to Northamptonshire Highways less than a minute later. ref: 2355834.
As a cyclist travelling from Northampton to Flore, there is a footpath on this side of the road. The footpath is badly overgrown to the point that it is difficult to cycle safely. The worst part is that road cones have been placed which forces me as a cyclist to cycle on the road in the face of oncoming traffic zooming round the roundabout. What is even more dangerous is trying to cross the M1 exit road, as it is impossible to see what is coming up the road as it is blocked with hedge growth. You literally have to step on to the road to see if anything is coming, and vehicles coming off the M1 are not travelling slowly, they are fast and so this is a very dangerous situation. Once across the footpath is blocked by another traffic sign, and road cones, so again one is forced to walk or cycle on the road facing oncoming traffic. This is an extremely dangerous situation, and would not take a lot of work to fix as it is simply a matter of moving signs and cones, and cutting back some of the vegetation. Please fix asap.

The road cones on the carriageway over the M1 heading east to Northampton have now been removed, and also the freestanding road sign has gone, so the footpath over the bridge is now clear. However the footpath leading up to the M1 still requires clearance.
