No footpath

Sent to Northamptonshire Highways less than a minute later. ref: 2355843.
There is a footpath leading to this point, but once you cross over the M1 exit road (which is dangerous because you cannot see round the hedge) there is no footpath for 10metres, then there is a footpath across the bridge, and then another badly maintained footpath. The traffic is very fast at the entrance and exit roads, and a cyclist or pedestrian needs clear visibility. It is unfortunate that there are new roadworks either side of the Junction 16, and lots of new footpaths, but the footpaths over the most dangerous part are in very bad condition. I guess this is because the new roadworks are not responsible for the junction, but they have made it very dangerous with lots of temporary road signs, so they should be responsible.

Thank you for enquiry relating to the condition of the footpaths at J16, M1. The area has been assessed taking into account the concerns raised. With the required level of funding it is considered that upgrading the existing footway on the West side of the A4500 between the service area (Flore relief road) and Panattoni Park would be the desired proposal. However, due to the level of funding necessary to implement such a proposal which will be in the tens of thousands we shall add this request to a list of future cycle and walking improvements for when there is enough to allocate towards such a scheme. Thank you for bringing this matter to our attention.
