Handrail on steep footpath is broken and preventing access for elderly residents

Handrail on steep slope up to bungalows from top of Gold Street is broken and elderly residents are frightened to go out with no support from the rail. Reported to be NCC responsibility by local parish council.

Thank you for your enquiry. A works order has been raised this will be undertaken within the next 28 Days. Appologies for the delay in actually carrying out these works however further enquiries have determined that this handrail is not a highways feature indeed the land it is on would appear not to be public highway as such we can only assume that this feature was installed by the district council many years ago to assist access to the bungalows we also believe that the land it is on is under the ownership of DDC. We will make further enquiries.
