Temporary traffic lights around footpath diversion on B576

Reported via mobile in the Signal Failure category anonymously at 08:07, Sunday 22 November 2020

Sent to Northamptonshire County Council less than a minute later. ref: 2399347.

The road has been narrowed with metal fencing - and lights are showing green to traffic in both directions. Traffic is moving to the centre of the road in this section, naturally assuming they have right of way. I saw a very narrow miss, and it is likely there will be many more. No road narrows signs or two-way traffic signs to give any indication that the lights aren’t controlling the traffic, and at night the general area is very dark.

  • Thank you for you report. Unfortunately temporary lights are the responsibility of the company that is carrying out the work in the area, Netcom only deal with permanent traffic signals. There should be a board displayed at the roadside informing you of the company and contact details.
