Dear County council,
Thank you for the update. With regards to the tree I was directed towards yourself by the Borough council as the large tree is not only overhanging it is also right outside the gate to 253 Billing Road East. The large roots is what has caused the damage to the pavement and is obstructing entrance to 253 Billing Road East. They advised me to contact the County Council for consideration to cutting down the tree completely and removing the roots causing damage and obstruction.

Thank you for your comments. We have taken this into consideration however Northamptonshire Highways will not remove any tree without there being sufficient disease or decay or unless it is causing structural damage to a property which would need substantial evidence and to go through our Insurance services. Northampton Borough Council maintain the Highway trees on behalf of Northamptonshire County Council so would therefore be responsible for the cutting back of the tree you are referring to. As stated we will be repairing the damaged footway within the next 28 days, we hope this covers your concerns.
