Overgrown, very wet footpath with some added obstruction

Reported via desktop in the Passage-Obstructed/Overgrown category by Monica de Bokx at 14:58, Mon 30 November 2020

Sent to Northamptonshire County Council less than a minute later. ref: 2411871.

This path, leading from just off Admirals Way towards Borough Hill Farm, is severely overgrown with, amongst, others brambles, very wet and obstructed with a big fence on the ground at one point. I didn't get any further on it to there due to the vegetation. Apparently many people have attempted this route over many years but not many have made it through and, unfortunately, even less have thought of reporting it. I don't know of many more rural paths around Daventry and it would be a shame to loose it as it opens possibilities for longer walks in this area.

  • Thanks for reporting this a site visit will be made and report back to you. A site visit has been made and and this route has been an issue for some time where there is a badger sett further along the path where it is a safety concern due to the number of holes and possibility of the ground collapsing. We are currently investigating this with a possibility of closing part of the sett or diverting the path this is an on going issue due to the nature of the problem but hope we will be able to progress with getting the path clear within the next 12 months.
