Overgrown Vegetation making pathway unuseable
Reported via desktop in the Restricted Visibility / Overgrown / Overhanging category anonymously at 17:42, Tue 1 December 2020
Sent to Northamptonshire Highways less than a minute later. ref: 2413854.
Vegetation is overgrown making the path practically unusable for even one person. As can be seen by the photos the path is practically lost to vegetation overgrowth. The area in question is at the top of the green ring on the map. This needs attending to soonest since it prevents One person from using the footpath and doesn't allow any social distancing to adhere to the current government guidelines without walking on the muddy area or to achieve social distancing one needs to use the Road to pass others. Hence the need to resolve to help with safety matters. There are many areas along this pathway to the Pedestrian Crossing Lights, that needs some maintenance.

I spoke today with contractors who were cutting back trees on the opposite point to this and they knew nothing about what you say that the contractors have been contacted. There is no footpath where they were working

Thank you for your enquiry a works order is already in place to cut back the vegetation from the footpath. The contractors have been contacted and requested to carry out these works as a matter of urgency. The Contractors you spoke to were not the ones used by Northamptonshire Highways. Our Contractors came back to me and informed me that the work has been put as a priority

This footpath is practically useless for the purpose it was designed for. I've added a couple of photos to emphasize the issue and it is clear that only 1 person can traverse this at any one time. I realise you have requested as a matter of urgency but, to date it is still not done. Please can you expedite this along the full length of this footpath as there are other areas along the way that need trimming back.
