3 Drains that need to to be emptied and debris removed

Reported via desktop in the Blocked - flooding road/path category anonymously at 15:36, Thu 24 December 2020

Sent to Northamptonshire Highways less than a minute later. ref: 2446717.

There are 3 drains on the road, all blocked with debris. The sewage is building up in the drains. These needs to be emptied as this will cause more flooding. This needs a drainage lorry and jet the drain out to clean this out.

  • I have had to call the tank emptying service again to ensure that the sewage outflow does not back-up into the house. They advise that they cannot do any more until the ouflow into the road drain is cleared. This urgent so I would be grateful if you could give this a high priority.

  • There is nothing to report i.e. the status 'in progress' seems to mean 'no progress'. The continued failure of the Council to deal with this problem is costing me increasing amounts of money (>£1k) and anxiety.

Some form of direct response would be appreciated. My telephone number is 01327 264 374.

  • Last week the Kier drain crew attended to solve the blockages of the outflow from my Klargester system and the nearby A361 road drains and gullies. This morning one of these road drains is full, iced over and has been overflowing down the road, indicating either that all the blockages were not cleared or that a new blockage has occurred. I attach two photos.

  • This shows the road drain overflowing ie. working in reverse and backing-up in the overflow from the Klargester.

  • The a361 is now completely flooded. This has completely damaged all the repairs done to the verge this week and the curb stones are all broken
