No cycling sign missing

Sent to Northamptonshire Highways less than a minute later. ref: 2452887.

No cycling sign near alleyway missing pole still remains but sign is missing.

On the opposing side of the post blue cycling & footpath sign missing as is part of the greenway route.

  • Thank you for reporting your concerns about lack of signs on this post. It is not possible to identify what signs this may have had previously. We do not provide ‘no cycling’ signs for alleyways – as footpaths people should know that cycling is not permitted, and in any case the staggered barrier railings would make it difficult to cycle here. Signs are only provided to indicate where there is a footway/cycleway or a separate cycle path. With regard to providing a sign relating to the Greenway, I will ask colleagues to consider if this is required here but as the alleyway is not a cycle route then it is probably not relevant to provide a sign here. Should this be the conclusion then it is likely that the signpost will be removed in due course.
