This is the current position on 14/1/21 @8am. The image of the water logging on the road is outside the churchyard and goes all the way to Primrose House. The log is caused by 3 things. 1) the water is backing up in the drainage system outside Rolando/New House. 2) it is backing up out of the man hole covers (the image of the drain cover is outside the village hall and shows the water backs up in the drain to the village hall, at least) and the back up water is flowing on to the road and down the hill towards Rylands/New House. 3)the surface water from the fields behind rose House/Xanadu is running into the dyke and into the storm water sewer. This connects to the main sewer via a culvert on the bridleway and enters the main drain outside Rose House. However due to the issue in the drains outside New House/Rylands the water is backing up out of the culvert (final image), running down the bridle way and on to the road by New House. The culvert level to the top of the brick wall is 3 foot high.
There is surface water beyond Elm Close but this may be over flow where the water has not gone into the drain and has run down the hill.
The Council need to return as a matter of urgency to determine the degree of the issue within the drainage system. This issue is recurring every time there is heavy rainfall. To reiterate four houses were very nearly flooded in December, they may not be as fortunate in the next heavy rainfall.
