  • Thank you for contacting Northamptonshire Highways. We inspected the bridge on 14th January 2021 to review the extent of damage and determine if it presents a risk to the bridleway users, but due to high flood waters we could not carry out our inspection. We will revisit once access is possible. At this stage of our investigation it appears that this structure may be privately owned, and whilst we may not be ultimately responsible for repairs part of our responsibilities as a highway authority, we need to ensure the bridges are safe.

  • No through road sign has just been hit and is now leaning, with actual sign plate bent, situated at the beginning of Appletree Road, needs replacing asap, as we still.have transporters etc still coming up this road trying to access the industrial estate.

  • Update 8th April 2021: We re-inspected the bridges in February when the water levels were lower, and at present there is no immediate safety concern for footpath and bridleway users. We are planning to carry out a full inspection of the bridges over the summer to determine their condition and any works required. We have noted that the retaining walls on the river banks are in poor condition. 2021-03-19 Thank you for contacting Northamptonshire highways.
