Cars parking destroyed verges
Reported via mobile in the Verges - Damaged by Vehicles category anonymously at 09:11, Sat 16 January 2021
Sent to Northamptonshire Highways less than a minute later. ref: 2481329.
Verges on London road between hawthorn and Broadway have been completely ruined by cars parking on them and has created a poor road/path surface. This either needs to be proper bays for cars or double yellow lines implemented to restrict parking. As the houses have driveways in this area I see no issue with double yellow lines to tidy up the road. This would make for a safer road and reduce pollution which is a key issue in this vicinity.

Thank you for your query to Northamptonshire County Council’s Street Doctor Service with regard to vehicles parking on the verge on London Road between Broadway and Hawthorn Road, Kettering. Northamptonshire Highways are currently in the process of making a legal order for the introduction of parking restrictions along this section which should be in place later this year. The parking restriction not only applies to vehicles parking on the road but also any parking on the highway verge so this should address the issues described.
