3 Road Gully's completely blocked with mud

Reported via desktop in the Blocked/Damaged category anonymously at 15:47, Monday 18 January 2021

Sent to Northamptonshire County Council less than a minute later. ref: 2486169.

From Bypass Roadworks erecting a new sign has blocked ditch and overflow is running down Byfield Road where all 3 road gulleys are full of mud. The river runs down to the bend covering the whole road during wet weather. The spray from traffic makes the pavement impassable at times. This has been going on for over 2 weeks!

  • It is nearly a month since this was reported and still no action as HS2 EFKB contractor is now pumping water from the HS2 construction site every hour into the ditch which overflows with mud and runs down the Byfield Road. Also the water table in this area is now so high that the land drain from this area runs down the bottom of gardens in Byfield Rd and these have been flooded to a depth of 150mm the past week. This may need NCC drainage expert to permanently resolve.

  • HS2 EFKB have stopped pumping water into the ditch and garden flooding has gone. However the Gulleys down Byfield Rd are still blocked and the ditch where the road sign (see above) has located needs clearing.
