Blocked gulley drain

Reported via desktop in the Blocked/Damaged category anonymously at 10:31, Tuesday 19 January 2021

Sent to Northamptonshire Highways less than a minute later. ref: 2487382.

The gully outside no 2 Newington has been blocked for at least 2 years. Every time it rains, the footpath and half the road becomes flooded. In addition, I have been told by the waste company that the water is impacting on the sewage drains and so the sewerage backs up and overflows into my yard through the manhole cover. I have photos.

  • Dear sirs,

Sorry to bother you again. You very kindly cleared the drain outside No 2 Newington Road, NN2 7TF on the 19th January 2021. However, it's blocked again. Not as badly as before but bad enough so that when its rains heavily, the water backs up through the manhole cover in the yard of No 2. See the photo from two days ago, 23rd August 2021. It seems there is a a major fault in the drain which needs to be sorted. It appears that this is the only drain on the road which is continually becoming blocked. Thank you. Thomas O'Mara landlord, No 2.
