The drain cover on the Kings Cliffe road is raised up due to water pressure caused by heavy rainfall. This has become a 'permanent' feature since the heavy rain before Christmas. The Kings Cliffe road is flooded in front of the pub and the water flows off along Main St. A vehicle could damage a tyre on the raised drain cover. The floodwater also flows off along Manor Farm and drains out on to Bridge St. The result is that the main road leading through the village is flooded from both sides. The entrance to the Manor House and the area around the War Memorial is particularly affected as it is the 'lowest' point and catches the flow from Kings Cliffe Rd and Bridge St. This is a known issue and the drainage system was cleared a couple of years ago. A thorough investigation is needed.
