Problem with road markings

Reported via mobile in the Road Markings - Worn/Faded category anonymously at 19:25, Tuesday 19 January 2021

Sent to Northamptonshire County Council less than a minute later. ref: 2489204.

The speed bumps markings are worn down so we have people parking on them at all times, this includes blocking the driveways that are located next to them. The dropped kerbs are also used for people to park on and we have some who like to think the pavement is their driveway and abandon their cars on it

  • Thank you for your street doctor enquiry. Please be advised that Northamptonshire Police can enforce if there is an obstruction on the highway where it is deemed not possible for a driver to safely manoeuvre, pedestrians to pass unhindered along the footway or that access to a public or private property is impeded. Any concerns can be reported via the local Safer Communities Team by calling the non-emergency telephone number 101. If appropriate you may wish to look at protecting dropped kerbs by way of an access line please see https://www.northamptonshire.gov.uk/ councilservices/ northamptonshire-highways/ parking/ Pages/ obstruction-of-driveways.aspx. With regard to the street calming re road markings this is dealt with separately by another department.
