Road surface below level of drains
Reported via desktop in the Potholes / Highway Condition category anonymously at 15:27, Thu 21 January 2021
Sent to Northamptonshire Highways less than a minute later. ref: 2493357.
Crossing point for pedestrians at junction of Manor St and High St, Raunds on the side opposite the library. The road surface at the pedestrian crossing point is lower than the nearest drain. This leads to a large body of water forming after rain falls as it cannot drain away. This causes a problem for pedestrians wishing to cross the road. Also, could you please clarify, are the knobbly pimples on the footpath supposed to be in alignment with the direction in which a pedestrian is supposed to cross? I was led to be that they are an aid to people of restricted vision. If so, then they are aligned in such a way that would lead someone straight into the middle of the road junction. Location of problem is to the right of location shown on the map.

Thank you for your report and location plan. We will make arrangements for the tactile paving (knobbly pimples) to be realigned correctly. If possible we will also alter the surface levels to minimise ponding here as part of the same works. Thank you for making us aware of these issues.
