Empty Grit Bin

Reported via desktop in the Grit Bin - empty/refill category anonymously at 17:32, Monday 25 January 2021

Sent to Northamptonshire Highways less than a minute later. ref: 2500948.

This grit bin is empty and the one that used to be in Windmill Close/Stonepit Drive junction no longer exists (has been removed, please can we have it back), therefore during the recent cold weather spell there wasn't enough to do both part of Stonepit Drive and Millfield Avenue

  • Thank you for your report regarding grit bins. We are compiling a list of all bins that need to be filled. Temperatures are now above freezing and we are expecting rain which will remove a lot of the snow. The forecast shows temperatures will continue to rise and grit bins will be replenished as soon as possible. Compacted snow still poses a risk on some roads and please do not assume a road is gritted. We grit 43% of the network and you can view our routes here. https://www.northamptonshire.gov.uk/ councilservices/ northamptonshire-highways/ roads-and-streets/ gritting/ Pages/ default.aspx
