Gate unsuitable for bridleway

The gate is chained about 50 cm above ground level so could not be opened by a mounted rider. It should be able to be opened and closed one handed. The gate is close to the road therefore dismounting would not be a safe option and there are no means to remount. The surface around the gate is waterlogged and slippery (on the same day the gateway opposite had a good surface).

  • thanks for reporting this a site visit has been made and we will be arranging for a long handle latch to be fitted within the next 2 months and remove the chain.
