Ice hazard, very dangerous
Reported via desktop in the Potholes / Highway Condition category anonymously at 10:32, Sun 31 January 2021
Sent to Northamptonshire Highways less than a minute later. ref: 2513297.
After a lot of rain, water rises up through the tarmac and often freezes in winter causing this ice rink. It is particularly dangerous because of the slope and the public footpath here is the main access from the estate through to village amenities. This problem has persisted for many years and has been reported in the past.

Thank you for your enquiry. We would not normally undertake gritting on an area such as this. These areas would normally be treated locally using the nearest grit bin. However we will need to investigate the issue of drainage in the area. We will investigate and update.
