Further to Report 2470499

Reported via desktop in the Damaged / Missing / Facing Wrong Way category anonymously at 18:49, Tuesday 2 February 2021

Sent to Northamptonshire Highways less than a minute later. ref: 2520128.

I have been unable to respond to your report 2470499 as you have closed it - therefore I have now needed to open a new one.

I understand your response to my concerns over the non conforming signs blocking sight lines is

"...these 2 signs belong to Weldon Parish Council and have been installed as part of the traffic calming through the village."

Please can you confirm for me where these signs are prescribed by TSRGD?

A lot of money has been spent by Weldon Parish Council on apparent engineering works to calm traffic, and I do not see these signs as any form of added value to that scheme.

In the context of distraction alone if nothing else, these actually reduce the drivers concentration on the road ahead at what is a very busy section of residential carriageway with multi junction, shops, crossing points and central islands... By blocking the sight lines at the junction you are causing blind spots that otherwise would not exist.
