Large Puddle / Flooding on Road
Reported via desktop in the Blocked/Damaged category anonymously at 19:59, Sun 7 February 2021
Sent to Northamptonshire Highways less than a minute later. ref: 2532170.
As the picture shows there is large build up of water on the inside curve of this sharp bend leading out of Eastcote and Dalscote on to the road that then joins the main Banbury Lane.
The flooding is to an extent that it makes half of the road unusable for non 4x4 vehicles which makes this dangerous especially in the dark as it is on a sharp bend and only half the road can be used.
I suspect this is caused by either a blocked drain / blocked ditch or by wear & tear to the road surface meaning there is a large pot hole or incorrect camber to the road surface on the corner countering any potential drainage of water.
This requires immediate action to elevate the flooding and implement a repair to ensure this does not continue to occur.

There is still no improvement in this situation and I have seen that under the large puddles (when we have had dry spells) that there are numerous deep and dangerous potholes.
This needs urgent attention for a works order to be carried out to repair the road surface as well as improve the verge around this corner and installing some form of drainage to alleviate the build up of sizeable flood puddles in the future.

Thank you for your enquiry. A works order has already been raised and will be completed within 4 months to cut grips to prevent ponding water on the corner.
